There is something special about handmade stoneware pottery that make eating more fun.
Holding that warm mug and talking about what is...makes it seem like time is standing still.
Is it the handmade stoneware pottery? Well, that's part of it, something special.
Mark Lendsey has been working with clay since 1968 working mainly on the potters wheel.
He produces functional forms with glazes that reveal the surface variation of wheel thrown pottery.
He uses a white stoneware and fires to cone six in an electric kiln, after an 04 bisque.
He has a small studio but is usually able to work out of doors in the south Florida weather permitting.
His philosophy is to make concise forms using as few tools as possible to produce durable functional ware.
